What about George Floyd?

What about George Floyd?

Posted by Kenny Vaughan on 3rd Jul 2020

I am sure I am jumping into a blender on this, but no one is talking about the truth. No one is talking about the real problem.

It’s easy for all of us to see clearly—any sensible person knows that his life was senselessly taken by a selfish man.

Was it race? I don’t know if it was race or not.

But if it was race, race is still not the problem.

Race is a fruit of the problem.

Until we deal with the root of the problem, nothing’s going to change. And the rioting, the rioting is a trap that is laid intended to destroy those who riot.

It’s the wrong fight.

And if you fight the wrong fight, the harder you fight, the worse it gets.

It’s just pouring gasoline on the fire.

Until we deal with the real problem, until we get in the right fight and commit to fight to live a loving life, it only gets worse from here.

It will continue to get worse until we deal with the right fight -- the fight to commit to living a loving life.

There is no love without Jesus and there is no Jesus without love.

Love is selfless and fear is selfish.

Fear fully developed delights in evil.

Until we know what love is and how to live a loving life all forms of hate and sin will rule our lives. It’s not possible to change the fruit until we change the root.

The moment we get in the The Right Fight everything turns on a dime. For now our nation pretends the only solution is the problem....until that changes it only gets worse from here.

Jesus is not the problem He is the only solution.

John 15:9-14

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.”

John 15:12

“This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.”

Luke 6:27-36

27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.

32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

Matthew 22:37-39 NIV

“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[ This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b

Matthew 7:12

“In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
