Shields of Strength on the Super Bowl Gridiron

     We are humbled beyond words, that when the AFC and NFC Champions suit up for the Super Bowl, players on each team will be wearing Shields of Strength.

     Regardless of the Team, NFL players who wear Shields of Strength seems to agree that they wear them for the personal reminder of God’s Word.

     “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

     I have had the pleasure of speaking with Earl Thomas III, Seattle Seahawks All Pro Safety, on a regular basis. Earl told me that Shields of Strength are important because "People need to have the Word close to themselves and its a great tool to share.”

     Many NFL players wear Shields of Strength, both on and off the gridiron. If you watch closely, you will even see players wearing Shields of Strength during games.

      For many years, I did not fully understood the term, "Gods word is alive." Then, I experienced it firsthand. As I poured over scripture, a particular verse literally jump off the page at me. I had read that verse hundreds of times and I was very familiar with it. However, on that day, it became crystal clear and so very powerful. Looking back, I now believe that I wasn't ready to receive the scriptures full meaning. Thankfully, when I most needed the Word, God opened my eyes and I received His truth into my heart. His truth could not have been any clearer and it was the answer to questions that I had been asking God. That verse was exactly what i needed to hear, at that exact moment, I need to hear it. The experience was truly a beautiful thing; and thankfully, it has occurred on more than one occasion. God taught me that His Word never returns void.

      We pray you enjoy the Super Bowl and hope we all see players wearing God’s Word engraved on Shields of Strength.
