Do Athletes Draw Strength from Faith?

Absolutely, yes! They draw strength from faith in Jeus Christ. Christian athletes use their natural and honed talents and abilities with their faith to achieve their goals. Jesus Christ as an example used His miraculous abilities to conquer sin in this fallen world. God the Father and the Holy Spirit were the power, force within Christ that brought about results. Christian athletes use their skilled prowess to conquer the challenges before them whether it is weightlifting, football, soccer, baseball, golf, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics or track and field. When Christian athletes put on a uniform or sports equipment for an event, they also seek the Lord in prayer. They desire to obtain the prize whole-heartedly in faith, honesty, and with integrity, just as the Word teaches. They desire to glorify Christ with their bodies and abilities. To glorify Him in competition, the athlete must be fit to compete. Physical strength training and a willing attitude to have their body and mind tested is part of the competition. Win or lose, Christian athletes give thanks to the LORD and point others to Jesus, Who is their hope, strength and standard of value in life.

Shields of Strength bible verses etched upon the men’s dumbbell and weight plate necklace supports and underscores the fundamental promise of Jesus Christ to Christian athletes, coaches, and sports fans. Nothing is impossible with God.

What is the meaning of Luke 1:37?

For with God nothing will be impossible.

Consider making this verse personal in the moment and read it like this: For nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37 records the interaction between Mary the mother of Jesus, a.k.a., Miryam (of Nazareth), the Virgin, and the angel Gabriel. Mary was betrothed to Joseph of the house of David. In modern terms, this promise would be called an engagement of marriage, which is far different from the Jewish contract that was entered into and negotiated in biblical times. This was a serious, detailed contract. In chapter one of Luke is the announcement to Mary. She was a young woman no more than 15 years of age, by some accounts. She was being told that she would give birth to the Messiah! How shocking, even unbelievable, for Mary to hear. Her life would forever be changed. How frightened must she also have been at that moment. But was she? Well-learned in Her Jewish tradition and their laws her mind must have been filled with thoughts of fear, ridicule, public humiliation and loss of the love and commitment of Joseph her husband-to-be. Did she feel failure and defeat? Whatever she felt and thought, she did not allow these human limitations to hinder her from hearing Gabriel’s words. She held firmly to his divine words: For with God nothing will be impossible. She placed her faith and trust in God. This faithful, brave young woman responded to Gabriel, Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word (Luke 1:38). She trampled on doubt and fear and trusted her Lord. Are you willing to allow Jesus to guide your desires according to His Word? Are you willing to trust His Word, and turn them into prayers, and believe that nothing is impossible with Him? It was not easy for Mary at that moment. But she believed God’s promises. She believed in His great power. Do you? Nothing truly is too difficult for the redeemed soul in Christ (Matthew. 19:26). With Him there is power and strength to lift the heavy weight of life.

Shields of Strength cross necklaces are wonderful symbolic reminders for you or a loved one of the gift of eternal life, hope, love, grace, and mercy.

What is the meaning of Romans 8:37?

Yet, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. The LORD of heaven and earth loves His own. He loves you, redeemed soul. In the book of Romans, the universal question is asked and answered, why did Jesus die? Apostle Paul’s divine words give the reader comprehensive guidance to the heart of Jesus and the mind of God. The gospel message cuts through the Law, theological issues, and philosophy to reveal that sin is a fallen condition that affects all humans. It is sin that separates people from God (Romans 3:10-18,23). God’s love is everlasting. The redeemed soul’s eternity is reserved (1 Peter 1:4-5). Christ has conquered sin. You do not need to fear. There is rest and calm, grace, love, and mercy in the Lord. His will, will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:9-10). Divine justice was satisfied. Through Him, Jesus Christ, you have conquered all the trappings of this world. The weighty, massive burden before you becomes light, nearly weightless for the redeemed soul and mind when joined with the beloved Jesus Christ. Jesus becomes your strength.
