How long should you wait for someone to change?

Our first responsibility is always to make sure we are not the ones that need to be changing. If we have the courage to look inside ourselves, we will find we are always in need of change. That said, if someone else is in need of so much change that a relationship depends on it, then we must pray about how long we should wait. We must also love them enough to challenge them to change at all cost. If they really refuse to change and we keep lovingly challenging them, many times they will walk away from us because they don’t want to hear truth anymore. If we really love someone, we are willing to hurt their feelings if it’s the only way to point them to truth. Proverbs 27:6,”Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”
