What Happens When We Sin?
Sin is a seed. When I sin, I plant that seed. After planting that seed, if I want to grow that seed, I have to give it my time and attention, water it and nourish it and encourage it to grow in my life.
If I allow the sin to grow long enough, the sin will reproduce of its own kind. In enough time, sin will take over a whole field—my whole life will be filled with sin.
That’s why it is so important for us to repent. That’s why God wants us to repent. God helps us do that. Repentance digs up the seed of sin so the sin can no longer grow. But if I leave that seed alone, it grows and spreads.
That’s why it is so important to be quick to repent. It’s easiest when all you have to do is dig up one seed. But if required, God will help you to dig up a whole field of sin.
Think about it. Trust God’s Word no matter what, because His Word is truth.
Keep your eyes on the horizon.
We talk about this on “The Right Fight” podcast.
