Luke 1:37 records the interaction between Mary the mother of Jesus, a.k.a., Miryam (of Nazareth), the Virgin, and the angel Gabriel. Mary was betrothed to Joseph of the house of David. This faithful, brave young woman responded to Gabriel, Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word (Luke 1:38). She trampled on doubt and fear and trusted her Lord. Are you willing to allow Jesus to guide your desires according to His Word? Are you willing to trust His Word, and turn them into prayers, and believe that nothing is impossible with Him? It was not easy for Mary at that moment. But she believed God’s promises. She believed in His great power. Do you? Nothing truly is too difficult for the redeemed soul in Christ (Matthew. 19:26). With Him there is power and strength to lift the heavy weight of life.
