What is the meaning of the three nails of the Nail Cross?

The three crucifixion nails are an important symbol in Christianity. They represent the crucifixion of Jesus Chris as predetermined by God (Acts 2:23). Primarily a political move, Pontius Pilate, a Roman governor, not desiring upheaval in Judea, ordered the will of the citizens to be upheld. Jesus of Nazareth would be crucified and left upon the cross until dead (John 18).

Cruelty, time efficiency, and money were the foundation of the Roman crucifixion. Three nails were the most efficient process of crucifying the victim. Some of what is known about Roman crucifixion and the crude nails used comes from historical documents, archeological discoveries and of course the Holy Bible. Nails of varying sizes were used, the most common being seven to nine inches long, fashioned from heavy iron. The nails were not round or smooth surfaced, but instead squared and rough from the entire length of the shaft due to the repeated hammering upon the metal's red-hot surface.

Each nail pounded into Christ's flesh tore His flesh separating the sinew from bone and ripping blood vessels to shreds. The powerful blood of Jesus seeped then dripped through the nail holes and splattered to the earthen dirt. Purity defiled. God in flesh upon a crude cross was then lifted before the spectators, who taunted and ridiculed Him.

The hope for Christ’s faithful followers today is that they are assured of what kept Jesus upon the cross. It was not the crude, cruel, destructive nails. What kept Jesus upon the cross was His love, obedience to the Father, love for His own, and the need for a final sin sacrifice. His image depicted upon a cross, nails deep within his hands and feet is proof that He will forgive those who call Him LORD.

To the unsaved world the crucifixion nails are a symbol of destruction. For the redeemed they are symbols of sin's destruction and an eternal abundant life with Jesus Christ the Son (John 10:10). The symbols of crucifixion nails formed into Shields of Strength men’s nail cross necklace becomes an evangelizing tool to discuss salvation and builds a path of eternal hope to Jesus (Colossians 1:13-14).

What is the meaning of John 19:30?

The remarkable divine circumstances surrounding Jesus’ death upon a cross set the world in a completely different trajectory. He breathed out His soul according to biblical prophecy. The history of exploitation, slavery, denial, betrayal was just some of the marks pressed into the road to Calvary. God the Father’s shrouded power from His heart through people was the force that pressed upon Christ’s heart and mind to finish the task before Him. “It is finished,” a Greek word (5055. Teleo) means to bring to a close, perform, complete, fulfill a command. Christ had accomplished exactly what His Father had commanded. Christ satisfied God’s justice in obedience, dying for all, to pay for sins of the redeemed. Their sins can never be punished again because that would violate God’s justice. Christ the final sacrificial lamb paid your debt.

Shields of Strength cross necklace is a wonderful symbolic reminder for you or a loved one of the gift of eternal life, hope, love, grace, and mercy.
