In Christ, the redeemed soul has a purposed life with a plan of endless possibilities here on earth and into eternity. Jesus has chosen the redeemed and will not reject them. His unwavering love gives inner strength and encourages each person in unique ways. The Apostle Paul’s service to the Lord was saturated with thanksgiving, contentment and obedient heart-felt love no matter the circumstance. The imprisonments he endured confined his body, but not his heart, mind, or soul. Paul sought excellence always. He believed all of Christ’s promises. “I will strength you” is an action statement – a present progressive tense term. Jesus is strengthening the redeemed person in the moment and will continue to strengthen such a life into eternity. It is utterly impossible to know what that looks like. Only the LORD knows. With Christ the redeemed grow, develop, prevail and are able to exhibit courage and strength. The redeemed grasp hold of Him in faith. Christ provides all and promises not to forsake His beloved children (Hebrews 13:5). Put your confidence in Him. Servant Paul, who once persecuted God’s people, was changed to an apostle according to Christ’s purpose plan. This is just one example of many reflecting what in the hands of Jesus can happen. A wrench in the hands of a skilled mechanic is used in a meticulous manner. A life in the Lord’s hands has endless possibilities. With Christ any challenge can be overcome. Two wrenches in the hands of a mechanic create an even stronger force. An individual’s gifts and talents in the hands of the powerful Christ Jesus develops into an unbreakable bond of strength.
