Your Best Defense For Selfish People

Your best defense for selfish people is love because love never pretends it’s okay for anyone to be selfish.

I once thought more selfishness is the answer to selfishness. If you didn’t respect me, I would show you what disrespect was. I thought I was fearless but in reality, fear ruled my life. Now I’m learning only love conquers selfishness.

Selfish people don’t even like to be around really loving people. They know they are going to get told the truth for their own sake and they don’t want to hear it.

It’s when we are afraid to love that we find ourselves sticking around selfish people. We are afraid if we confront them, if we tell them the truth even for their own sake that we are going to lose them and it is going to cost us something.

In reality we are not doing what is best for them, but what is best for ourselves.

That is why I am always saying don’t love yourself.

It is loving yourself when you are refusing to do what is truly best for someone else because you are afraid of what it will cost you.

Get busy loving and you won’t have to defend yourself. Because love will defend you long before you ever need to defend yourself.

For if you want to save your own life, you will lose it; but if you lose your life for my sake, you will find it.

Trust God’s Word, no matter what.
