Men's Chain Lengths

Women's Chain Lengths

Wearing a pendant? Chain length is measured to where the pendant attaches, not to its bottom edge. Pendant height varies by design, so a taller pendant will sit a little lower than the chain length alone suggests — worth picturing when choosing your length.

How To Measure Your Neck

All you need is a soft measuring tape (or a string and a ruler). Follow these three steps to find your true neck size before choosing a chain length.

Get A Tape Measure

Use a flexible cloth or vinyl measuring tape. If you don't have one, a piece of string works — just measure it against a ruler afterward.

Wrap It Around The Base

Wrap the tape loosely around the base of the neck, where a chain would naturally sit — not too tight, not too loose. Note the measurement.

Add Your Drop Length

Add 2"–4" to that base measurement for room and drop — this gives you the finished chain length that matches how you want it to fall.

No tape on hand? Wrap a necklace you already own and love around your neck, lay it flat, and measure end to end in inches — that's a close estimate of your ideal chain length.
