What is a Hardened Heart?

The idea that hardening our heart will protect us is not wise, and it’s not the easy way out. It may be easier right now, but like all fearful decisions, it brings immediate relief with the cost of delayed destruction. We must get in the game to fight to live a loving life. We can’t just follow our feelings because they lure us to our own demise. It’s not easy to keep living a loving life when we feel like love got us hurt. The truth is, love never hurts anyone. Selfishness and fear do that. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3,”If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,but do not have love, I gain nothing.”
